Literature Text

I was wandering in the dark today.  And for once, you weren't even there; you, pointing out stars like roadmaps and confusing my every thought.

See peerless Orion?  He pursued the lovely Pleiades until Zeus took pity and placed them in the sky.  And yet Orion pursues them still.

You never were satisfied.  You struggled for greatness, and seized it, and still wanted more.  I dug a glowworm from the mud for you, and said it was the lost Pleiad, because you only wanted what no one could find.

Zeus put the Pleiades in the sky.  How did Orion get there?
He insulted Apollo.  The god tricked Artemis into slaying him.  Remorseful, she placed him in the sky.

I never believed you.  I think Orion killed Artemis.  And he never even noticed.
Reach for the stars. You may not get them, but you won't get a handful of mud, either.

I don't know about this one. My peoples couldn't understand it. It's only a rough...Help, please?

And I don't think I categorized it correctly.

I think that this is one pretty piece of clever writing. Being familiar with Greek mythology would certainly have helped your peoples to understand it :)

What I really liked about this was how you blended the divine (myth) with your own daily reality, in this way reversing (in the last line) what had actually happened according to myth.

I also loved the glowworm-star idea - it's very creative :)

Category: prosetry, perhaps?

I'm sorry - I don't have any suggestion in mind on this piece. Perhaps fleshen it up a little in certain parts, e.g. paragraph 3, to give the reader more of a clue as to what you're actually talking about?

keep it up, dear dire :)
